Rust Dublin 2011 MapReduce

📅 2020-11-04

Join Ferris, MapReduce and fellow Rustaceans for a double billing of Rust talks.

Rust Dublin November, Season Finale, Remote Meetup

Year 2020 is almost ending! I'm not sure if it went fast or slow, but this is our last meeting this year. Next year we will bring diverse events and hopefully have few pints.

At this last meeting of the season, we will briefly take stock and go over what has been done in Rust Dublin and plans for next year.

Talk: Implementing MapReduce in Rust, or How I learned async programming in Rust

And finally I (Ertugrul) will present a personal learning project, "Implementing MapReduce in Rust". For all those MapReduce fans, I am not intending to implement a Hadoop. This project was for me to learn different asynchronous programming facilities that are now available in Rust. I will talk about Futures, Locks, and Threads, and there I say it, patterns, with my painful lessons as a beginner.

Hopefully see you there one last time this year!
